The leadership of St Kevin's College in Melbourne has been hit with another blow, after revelations the deputy principal is being investigated for her handling of an inappropriate conduct complaint.

It follows the resignation of the headmaster, Stephen Russell, after revelations the school didn't provide support for their student who was groomed by a sports coach.

There have also been questions about the oversight of the school by Edmund Rice Education.

Sheree Limbrick, the CEO of Catholic Professional Standards Limited, says her board will begin auditing schools in the future, to ensure they comply with standards recommended after the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
