MANAGER, AUDIT & REVIEW

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the primary purpose of the role is to lead, build and foster a culture of safeguarding across all Church entities with whom ACSL works. Supporting the CEO, the Manager, Audit & Review is responsible for implementing the ACSL’s risk-based review and audit framework designed to safeguard children and adults at risk engaging with the Catholic Church across Australia. This involves managing audits and reviews of Church entities in meeting their implementation of the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards.

Qualifications, skills & experience

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar senior level role and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Evidence of management level experience in a similar role or in a field with readily transferrable knowledge and skills (eg. regulation, quality and compliance, public policy or related discipline).
  • Evidence of data analysis and reporting skills, compliance and regulatory knowledge and the capacity to provide informed strategic advice.
  • Understanding of the Church’s history in relation to the failure to protect children, and a commitment to ensuring that current and future institutions and entities are free from abuse and exploitation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (eg. law, accounting, social work, finance, psychology, etc).

PROJECT OFFICER – AUDIT & REVIEW TEAM

The Role

Reporting directly to the Manager, Audit & Review the primary purpose of the role is to provide support in implementing the ACSL’s risk-based review and audit framework designed to safeguard children and adults at risk engaging with the Catholic Church across Australia. This involves undertaking desktop research for audits and reviews of Church entities in meeting their implementation of the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards.

Qualifications, skills & experience

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a project support role in the community sector and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of project management principles including planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated competency in data management and analytics.
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to learn and acquire new digital skills and get the best out of existing software.
  • A positive, solutions focused attitude, with attention to detail and ability to meet tight and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team on own initiative, demonstrating resourcefulness and managing competing priorities.

PROJECT OFFICER – SAFEGUARDING TEAM

  • Part time (0.5 FTE)
  • This is an exciting new role to drive change and make a difference.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Safeguarding the primary purpose of the role is to develop, review and improve the resources to support Church entities in the implementation of the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards.  The position will also be responsible for keeping abreast of emerging trends, issues and legislation as well as advising Church personnel in the areas of policy development in relation to all aspects of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Qualifications, skills & experience

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a project support role in the community sector and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding of project management principles including planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  • A positive, solutions focused attitude, with attention to detail and ability to meet tight and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team on own initiative, demonstrating resourcefulness and managing competing priorities.

Experience and qualification in adult learning/instructional design is highly desirable.
